Mexican Peasant Blouse - Women's Tunic
With my pattern instruction booklet, you can make a dress, a peasant blouse or
long tunic in a couple of simple steps.
If you can cut out rectangles and operate a sewing machine, you can own as many
peasant blouses and tunics as you want. Why pay $50 for a cheaply-made, mass-produced
tunic because it's trendy? Why dig through dozens of ugly blouses at a department store
trying to find one nice cotton one with that romantic folk look? My 14 page downloadable
booklet gives you the step-by-step instructions you need to make as many beautiful
blouses and tunics as there are pretty pieces of fabric!
Because my booklet is based on taking your own measurements, rather than following a typical
pattern, it will fit any body shape and is certainly a perfect style for any woman with its
dainty peasant yoke top and graceful, floating fall. Puff sleeves are as light as a breeze
and by choosing linen or cotton to make your tunic or blouse, you will have a perfect summer
shirt, even in the hottest weather.
My instruction booklet can be used to make a full length Mexican dress, Mexican peasant blouse or
tunic.
For the full-length gown, you measure down to the tops of your feet. For a tunic, simply measure
to just above the knee. For a blouse, measure to the bottom of the hip. Add 1 inch for your hem allowance
and you've got a versatile set of directions from which you can make 3 fantastic garments, as many
times as you want to!
You can leave your Mexican Peasant Blouse or Women's Tunic plain, or you can use my embroidery
design, bursting with colorful birds, flowers and ferns. My booklet teaches you the 2 basic embroidery
stitches that this design is created from, so even if you are a beginning
embroiderer, you can create the pattern. Or you can make up your own embroidery design using flowers,
symbols or geometric shapes that have special meanings to you.
I sewed this full length dress in one evening, and I'm by no means a pro! I embroidered it in
less than a week. Just think of the riches you can add to your summer wardrobe by learning the
secret of making a simple peasant blouse or tunic. Plus, you get the fun of making garments that are
unique as you are, and I think every lady deserves that pleasure.

Mexican Peasant Blouse and Tunic Fabrics
A white peasant blouse of cotton or linen is certainly an all-purpose garment. Cotton or linen
tunics are amazingly comfortable, too. Cotton broadcloth or muslin are fairly solid fabric
and you'll find it in both white and natural if you want that soft, light look. And obviously,
white makes a very good background for embroidery work.
However, you may want to enliven your summer wardrobe with different fabrics or colors.
Cotton batiste, organza and leno are semi-sheer fabrics and if you will be wearing your peasant
blouse or tunic over a tanktop, they are a lovely choice. Batistes, organzas and lenos come
in every solid color of the rainbow as well as pretty prints. How about a sage green peasant blouse
or a red tunic top? The choice is yours!
If embroidery isn't your style, you can embellish your peasant blouse or tunic with lace trim,
ribbons, beading, cross stitch, applique, crochet work or even fabric paint. If you are a crafty
person, I'm positive that you'll have lots of great ideas once you see how quickly you can whip this
garment together. For just $5.00, you will own my set of detailed, illustrated instructions from
which you can make these classic folk garments for yourself, your mom, your friends. Believe me,
everyone is going to want one once they see yours!
